Notes & Background

The interlude music of the Hindi version (LB3) of “Haay Jhilmil Jhilmil Ye” was used to create the melody for “Jila Jila Nendu” and its Bengali counterpart “Jhilmil Jhilmil” (SC43).

The opening track “Gum Gum Gungeruwanthe” carries a style reminiscent of R. D. Burman, whom Salil admired immensely.

Sridhar Rajanna of KannadaAudio.com praised “Udala Sarala” as a classic 70s melody showcasing Salil’s remarkable versatility and melodic depth. He highlighted Salil’s unmatched ability to compose across many Indian languages with unparalleled consistency.
