Swapnam (1973) contains some of the finest Malayalam compositions of Salil Chowdhury. The exceptionally rare song "Sowrayudhatil", sung by Vani Jairam, remains a collector's treasure with no other known versions.

For a brief period, distinguished poet O.N.V. Kurup used the pseudonym "Balamurali", under which these lyrics were penned.

Swapnam contains some of the most cherished Malayalam compositions of Salil Chowdhury. The highlight of the soundtrack is the deeply moving "Sowrayudhatil" sung by Vani Jairam, a song of melancholic beauty and remarkable vocal depth.

Unlike other songs from the film, "Sowrayudhatil" has no known alternate versions, making it a rare treasure in Salil’s musical legacy.

For unknown reasons, renowned poet O.N.V. Kurup used the pen name Balamurali for a short period, during which these lyrics were written.
