Notes & Background

Udaanchhoo is one of Salil Chowdhury’s compassionate and socially sensitive works, composed for a Children’s Film Society production. The film reflects on discrimination faced by individuals with dwarfism and promotes empathy, dignity and courage.

The soundtrack is simple yet deeply emotional — particularly the slow version of “Tan ke chhoTe”, which remains unreleased on disc but survives in the CFSI video print.

Sunil Kumar leads all three songs, with choral backing typical of Salil’s warm, community-oriented arrangements for children’s films.
