Film Information

Language: Hindi

Lyricist: Prem Dhawan

Jawaab Aayegaa (1966) is a small but historically interesting soundtrack. A Children’s Film Society project, it features charming melodies — but surprisingly, the film credits list **no playback singers**.

The title theme is based on a melody Salil originally composed for the Malayalam film Ezhutaathrikal (1968), later reused with a fuller arrangement in the Bengali/Hindi track “Humraahi Manzil Ke” from Anokhaa Daan (1972).

Notes & Background

Jawaab Aayegaa is one of the most obscure entries in Salil Chowdhury’s filmography, with **no documentation of the playback singers**, even in the film’s own title credits.

The title theme is especially interesting — it later evolved into a much richer orchestral theme for the Malayalam film Ezhutaathrikal (1968), and eventually became the beautiful melody of “Humraahi Manzil Ke” in Anokhaa Daan (1972).

The songs themselves are simple, playful, and child-friendly, matching the nature of the Children’s Film Society production.
