Film Information

Language: Hindi (Dubbed)

Original Malayalam Film: Madanolsavam (1978)

Tamil Dubbed Title: Paruvamajhai

Lyrics (Hindi): Manohar

This soundtrack is a rare case where Salil’s melodies travelled across Malayalam → Tamil → Telugu → Kannada → Hindi — sometimes creating *multiple Hindi versions of the same tune* across completely unrelated films.

“Pyaar mei.n jo bhi” (DD1) is particularly unusual — because the exact same melody was already used earlier in Hindi for Kuhasaa (KU2), again sung by Yesudas!

Similarly, DD2 appears again in another obscure Hindi film, Mera Damaad (1995), showing how scattered Salil’s version table had become.

Notes & Background

Dil Kaa Saathi Dil (1982) is not an original Salil Hindi film but a Hindi dub of Madanolsavam — yet the music stands strong because of powerful Yesudas–Janaki performances and Salil’s cross-language melodic architecture.

Multiple Hindi duplicates (KU2, AP2, MD1, etc.) show how Salil recycled the same melodies across languages and decades — sometimes even forgetting a Hindi version already existed.

For collectors, this soundtrack is rare because the original LP/EP releases are extremely hard to find today.
