Byapika Bidaay (1980)

Byapika Bidaay features some truly delightful compositions, especially the two Manna Dey songs, which are widely considered the gems of the soundtrack.

“Kuaasaa Aanchol Kholo” is often regarded as the finest song of the album — a lyrical, flowing melody that suits Manna Dey perfectly.

Shakti Thakur’s “Tu Hon Lagaayo Najra” had the potential to be more appealing, though his weak Hindi accent limited its impact.

Sabita Chowdhury later re-recorded “Ei Baagaane Phool Tolaa Maanā” with a far richer arrangement, which many listeners find superior to the original.

The EP record of this film’s songs is extremely rare — a collector’s treasure that is now almost impossible to obtain.
